You didn't say if you are in community college, but the one I attend has classes where you make short films and that is your final. They also have equipment to check out too. I say go for it. You don't need to take classes to make a film if you want. Sometimes the best way to learn is to actually do it. For an added bonus, look at renting or buying a Panasonic AG DVX100. It mimics film beautifully and is around $2500, which, all things considered, ain't bad for pro-sumer. I'm probably going to buy one real soon. If you can't afford that, anything will do. I've made some interesting montage pieces with my Canon Powershot's video function. Also, stick to progressive scan or try shooting in PAL, then converting it to NTSC in Final Cut, it looks nicer.good luck! More |
